인구 5000만 지키자 - '인구 자연감소' 도미노 시작됐다
인구 절벽을 맨 먼저 맞은 전남의 경우 지난 2013년과 2014년 각각 931명과 1236명이 자연 감소한 데 이어 지난해에는 사망자가 신생아보다 1400명 더 많았고 강원도 역시 2013년에는 신생아가 사망자보다 225명 많았으나 2014년(342명)에 이어 지난해에도 400여명 인구가 연속해서 자연 감소한 것으로 추정됐다.
신생아가 사망자 수보다 적어 '인구 자연 감소' 사태를 맞은 지자체가 속속 등장하고 있는데 우려했던 저출산 고령화에 따른 '인구 절벽'이 현실화되고 있는 것이다.
