사흘간 울릉도에 380mm의 폭우가 내리면서 울릉도 가두봉 피암터널이 붕괴.

가두봉 인근 피암터널 입구가 붕괴돼 일주 도로 통행이 통제되고 있으며 저동항 등에는 수백척의 어선들이 대피.

피암터널은 사면에 떨어지는 낙석이 터널 위에 쌓이도록 해 도로를 이용하는 차량을 보호하는 구조물. 

지형적 특성상 울릉도에는 여러개의 피암터널이 존재하지만 여름철 태풍 등 비 피해가 발생할 때마다 산사태가 발생해 터널이 통제되는 등 붕괴에 대한 우려가 지속적으로 제기.
